![]() ![]() From shooting photos to editing photos to saving them to your camera roll, Realmac Software has done an excellent job of making the app pretty and easy to use. User Interfaceīoth the user interface and user experience offered by Analog are truly stellar. Unlike other photography apps I’ve tested in the past, Analog’s filters haven’t added unattractive and unwanted fragments or grain to any of my photographs. When applying filters to your photos, they do not distort or take away any visible quality from the images. In fact, the monochrome filter ‘Inky’ is by far the best monochrome filter I’ve seen on a mobile app.Įven though some of these filters may be a bit too bright for my personal preference, they’ve impressed me with their clean look and style. However, all nine of these filters are high-quality and generally look good. In terms of photo filter selection, Analog offers a limited range of options with only a handful of filters. This means that you cannot shoot landscape photos and if you import a photo into the app, you’ll have to crop it down to size. If you’ve ever used Instagram, you know what I’m talking about. One issue I had with snapping photos with Analog is the fact that it gives your photos a square, Polaroid-like aspect ratio. If you choose, you can open your edited photo in another app. You can choose to save newly edited photos to your Camera Roll or share it with your friends via Twitter, Facebook or email. Once you tap a photo, you’re instantly brought to a three-by-three grid of filters. When you’re done shooting, you can tap on your photos from your Camera Roll that is displayed above the Camera view. The camera view has a line down the center for easy centering and framing of your photographs. When you first launch the app, you’re instantly greeted with a camera view. Taking photos with Analog is an absolute breeze. But with so many photo filter apps on the App Store, is Analog ( $0.99) worth purchasing for the iPhone? Analog was previously released for Mac, though popular demand brought the app and its filters to iOS. One of the latest additions to this growing market of iOS applications is Analog by Realmac Software, the developers of Clear, Rapidweaver, and other reputable apps on both the Mac and iOS platforms. Always be on the lookout for new threats appearing.Even though Instagram has taken over most of the mobile photo-filter market, there are other options available for more abstract or cleaner photo filters. The online world is constantly changing and evolving, and new email scams could appear any day that Inky is not prepared to defend against. It is possible for Inky to hide emails from you that were not actual threats, and in the process it could stop you from seeing information that would have actually been important for you to see. You should still practice common sense online safety practices, and should not trust Inky to take care of every threat. You can use Inky to keep data and analysis of the threats to your email, allowing you to go back and see previous threats after they have been eliminated.Ĭons: There can never be any guarantee that Inky will stop all threats to your email. ![]() You can use Inky to stop malware or spam, furthering your email's security and cleaning up your inbox, only showing you the emails you receive that actually matter. These threats often would otherwise go undetected. ![]() This dramatically increases your online safety and security. Pros: Inky can detect phishing threats before you open them up and expose yourself to hackers. Very few email protection services are as effective and helpful as Inky. It is also very good at cleaning up your email so that you do not have to worry about an absurd amount of spam or malware appearing in your inbox. Inky puts an end to this, and makes it easier than ever to track the threats to your account and keep track of them. Phishing is incredibly deceptive and effective, tricking even more technologically savvy people into handing over financial information that they had no intention of sharing. Rooting out phishing is one of the most important aspects of the software. Free of charge, this site cleans up and protects your email in many ways. Overall Opinion: Inky is such a helpful service that you wonder what its creators get out of making it. ![]()

The first method just involves writing numbers in two cells, and then a couple of clicks. Writing numbers in cells is a task often performed in Excel, and here we have seen two simple methods that let us save time. Note: if you add or delete rows, you will need to set the auto-numbering again by selecting the first cell and dragging or double-clicking again to restore the pattern. Just fill in your first cell with =COLUMN(A1), select the cell, then expand the selection to the rest of the cells you want your numbers to be in. If you want to number your columns, you can use the COLUMN() function in the same way as the ROW(). a is used to determine the step, and b (it can be either a positive or negative number) is used to change the starting point of the pattern. If you want to change the starting point of the pattern – to maybe have only odd numbers, for example – you can subtract one: =ROW(A1) * 2 - 1, this will produce the numbers 1, 3, 5, 7.Īs a general formula, to get any pattern you can write =ROW(A1) * a + b. This will produce the numbers 2, 4, 6.and so on. ![]() If you want to have a different regular pattern, you can use a bit of math: to have numbers spaced by 2, you can write =ROW(A1) * 2 in the first cell, and then proceed with the same steps as above. 4) Now if you sort the data, the line numbers will stay in order. 1) Write =ROW(A1) in your first cell, 2) It will appear as the number 1, 3) Click and drag or double-click to fill all other cells. Select the cell and drag the outline from the handle in the corner to populate the same formula in the rest of the cells (or, if you are adding the line numbers near a block of data already present, you can just double-click on the handle on the corner of the selection). This will produce the number 1 in the cell. In the cell where you want the numbering to start, write =ROW(A1). To avoid that, you can dynamically number your rows using the ROW() function. If you have data that can be sorted in different ways (say, a list of names - alphabetically, etc), it's annoying if the numbering of your lines gets scrambled when you're sorting other data. How to Auto-Number Cells Using the ROW() Function It won't work with other kinds of number progressions. ![]() Note: this will always add numbers that are evenly spaced in the pattern you've started. You can also do the same going upward – fill two cells, select them, click the handle and drag upward to fill the cells above your two starting cells. It'll automatically fill in those numbers. Fill in two consecutive cells in a row with the start of your pattern, then select them and drag the outline horizontally across those cells that you want to continue that pattern. You can also do the same with rows instead of columns. The numbers can also be formatted in descending order: if you start with 7 and then enter 5, the pattern will continue with 3, 1, -1, and so on. 2) Drag the handle on the outline (you can also see the tooltip with the last number in the series) 3) Release Then you can release, and the numbers will be filled in automatically. You would then select the cells containing the 5 and the 8, click on the handle, and drag to select the other cells until you see 38 appear in the tooltip. So, if you want to start with the number 5 and increment by 3 until 38, you would write 5 in your first cell, and 8 in the next cell. Once you have two adjacent cells filled with your two starting numbers, you can select those two cells, click on the handle in the bottom right corner of the green outline, and drag to select all the cells that you want to follow your pattern.Ī useful tooltip appears near the bottom right corner of the green outline to show what the last number in the series would be if you released at that point. How to Auto-Number Cells with a Regular Patternįor this method, you set your starting number in one cell and the next number in the series in the next cell. And in this article, I'll show you two methods of doing so: the first is a simple method, and the second lets you have dynamically numbered cells. But writing the number manually in each cell takes a lot of time.įortunately, there are methods that help you add numbers automatically. Numbering cells is a task often you'll often perform in Excel. ![]() ![]() ![]() I wasn’t expecting it to be bad or anything, but from moment to moment it really did feel like a Silent Hill game, then a Resident Evil game, then back again. I’ll certainly be going for the platinum when the broken trophy for one of the endings is fixed. So once you’ve beaten it you can actually whizz through it pretty quickly when you know where to go and how to do the puzzles. Even so, the trophies are similar to the Resident Evil games in that you’re tasked with completing the game in under three hours, without saving and/or without healing. It was probably far more, especially as I got stumped a few times. You have a few different endings to go for and it took me, by the game clock, seven and a half hours to beat. The rest of the sound design is great though, adding to the foreboding atmosphere. You could argue the voice acting being as it is is a nod to its forebearer and its by no means terrible but those cutscenes don’t hold the gravitas that they could if they were more Silent Hill than Resident Evil. The acting in cutscenes, both voice work and animation, isn’t the best but it does the job. The few human characters there are are more stylised than realistic but they fit the scene reasonably well. Again, not massively original but the game’s reliance on darkness and you providing your own light source makes for a lot of pleasant looking (considering the nature of the visuals) dynamic lighting. It adds a potential death which is near enough impossible otherwise which adds to the tension, especially as you have to manually save with finite use items a la Resident Evil, but the combat was simple enough and clunky enough to detract from the game a little.Īlthough I found the monster designs to be a little generic the environments are very nice. I’m not a fan of the monster designs and having to fight, conserving ammo at times, just didn’t add anything for me. You’ll get a few different weapons to help deal with them but, although I understand why they’re there, I could do without the combat element. The game walks a fine line and it lands on the right side of that line most of the time, giving you a challenge that is rewarding to figure out but on the odd occasion it does withhold just a little bit too much information.Īlso as you run around searching rooms and unlocking doors you’ll encounter monsters. ![]() Generally the game is very good at giving you the clues you need to figure out what needs to be done but there were about three occasions where I was completely stumped, not even sure if I was focusing my attention in the right place at that moment. Sometimes you’ll just have to use the right item in the right place, other times you’ll have to twiddle some switches and dials in the right order. ![]() Puzzles come in a couple of flavours: taxing and bloody taxing. Items can range from ammo for your weapons, health items or useable items that will be needed for future puzzles. Caroline may just comment on whatever you’re looking at or it may be something to pick up or a puzzle. It can cause an issue when the angle changes but different strokes for different folks.Īs you explore certain items or parts of the environment can be interacted with, a button prompt appearing as you get near. If this makes your skin crawl more than the monsters then if you use the analogue stick you just point in the direction you want to go, relative to the camera. When it comes to fixed cameras I like tank controls, so I used to dpad throughout so that up was always forward no matter the camera. That means fixed camera angles (though not static, they can move) and, if you so choose, tank controls. You do so in classic survival horror style. What’s going on? Who sent the note? Who did this to her? These are just some of the questions that’ll be answered as you explore this creepy locale. She then wakes up in a bathtub, with a tube down her throat and her right eye removed. She visits the sender’s address to find an abandoned mansion, converted into a hospital and is knocked unconscious shortly afterwards.
